A kraft shipping box is a regular slotted carton (RSC) built from B-flute or double-wall corrugated, designed to protect goods through parcel and freight networks rather than to present them.

Choosing a board grade

B-flute at 3mm handles most parcel shipping under 20lb. Double-wall BC at roughly 6mm is the right call for heavier goods, glass, or anything that will be stacked on a pallet for a long transit.

Edge crush test rating matters more than board thickness for stacking strength. We specify ECT on every quote so you can compare like for like against another supplier, rather than comparing a thickness number that tells you very little on its own.

Sizing to the pallet, not just the product

A carton sized only to the product often wastes a third of a pallet. We check your carton dimensions against standard 48 x 40 pallet footprints during the dieline stage and flag where a small dimension change would fit an extra row per layer.

That change is usually free at the design stage and keeps paying back on every freight invoice afterwards.

What is the difference between a kraft mailer and a kraft shipping box?

A mailer is one piece, folds without tape, and is built to be seen by the customer. A shipping box is an RSC in heavier board with flaps that need tape, built to protect and to stack. Many brands use both: retail units in mailers, master cartons as shipping boxes.

What ECT rating do I need?

32 ECT covers most parcel shipments under 20lb. Move to 44 ECT for heavier contents or where cartons will be stacked more than three high on a pallet. We put the rating on the quote so it is comparable across suppliers.

Can you print a box maker's certificate?

Yes, on request and at no extra cost. It is the round stamp on the bottom flap that states board grade and burst or ECT rating.
